This session is designed for educators who are new to using Canvas. We’ll explore a variety of design layouts successfully used by teachers across the district. The presentation will introduce the essential features of Canvas, highlight best practices, and review key district expectations. Please bring your laptop to begin building.
There are so many resources out there, from all of the Apple Apps to websites, that it can be overwhelming. As a certified Apple Coach and teacher experienced in upper elementary, I can help teachers get a sense of where to start as they think about how to make technology enhance their practice instead of merely being a fun add-on. I will share real examples of successful projects as well as lessons learned from experience. Participants will get a chance to practice different ideas and ask questions. This year, we will also discuss options that AI has opened up for us!
IXL is a new comprehensive K12 online curriculum utilized throughout the district as a supplemental intervention tool. The platform provides individualized guidance & real-time analytics in grade-level and subject specific modules including math, language arts, social studies and science. IXL’s real-time diagnostics and actionable analytics, help drive a personalized learning experience for each student aligned to state, Common Core, and NGSS standards. This session provides an introduction to essential IXL tools for daily instruction and takes a deeper dive into the utilization of IXL’s diagnostics for monitoring student progress.
